Inspiration; true inspiration

Hi everyone! How are you doing today? 😉

This is a post I made on July 19, and it was uploaded automatically.

There are many old saying out there in the world, but the one that I rethought to myself “Wow, this is so true!” is that dreams do come true.

Why I say this? There are several examples, but I will share this one case that I haven’t really shared with anyone (because it’s too long ago)

When I was about 5 or so (and spoke absolutely no English), I was put into a summer camp. Obivously I couldn’t do too much (I know I cried at a game because I had no idea how to play it. The game where you whisper something into the other person’s ear and keep passing it on until the last person hears it) I remember having one friend who was nice and played a board game or something with me.

There, I got this little Do-it-yourself stain glass. (the ones that are plastic and you color in it with paint) I got one, but I had no courage to say “I want to do this”, and we were running out of time. So as a child, I felt really sad and at that time, I kind of regretted the fact that I didn’t get to do it.

Over time (obviously), I forgot about it, but from time to time, I would think to myself, “I wish I could do those plastic stain glass things…”. I know they sell it at Michael’s or Ben Franklin. but I never really had the “need” to buy it. (this happened over the course of 13 or so years.)

And today, we went to this Art Museum for a field trip. And guess what. Out of all the art projects that could be done in the world, today’s activity was Stain glass making. I couldn’t be happier than that. I was actually overfilled with joy on the inside, because my little tiny childhood “dream” was accomplished, TODAY. After 13 or so years of thinking it and having that memory tucked in there in the back of my mind, I was finally, FINALLY able to accomplish this. This just made me really really happy.

So even though I was supposed to watch and help the kids, I was just totally into painting the stain glass.

And this is what my dream turned out to be like:

Yes, I did two, because they said if we all finish one, we can do another one. So, why not?

Mine:

Pink and purty and summery 😉

His:

In contrast to my pink, brightness, I made it dark. But did not forget about bright colors! (I love bright colors!)

I was very happy, and I was smiling (inside and out, but more on the inside), because I was able to fulfill the happiness of me when I was a child. My inner child(ness) was happy, and finally satisfied with the fact of doing this stain glass art.

So all in all, I want to say that if you keep thinking that your dream will happen (even if it’s in the back of your mind and you don’t think about it too often), and keep your dreams alive in your mind, it will come true.

I can’t stress this enough, and I wanted to leave all of you with this video. (maybe some of you have already seen it before) It’s not as long as the original one (which is a little over an hour), but if you ever have time to watch it, do so, because it is totally worth your time.

I seriously watch this over and over from time to time; I have this on my ipod, because whenever I feel down and think of giving up my future dream and or/ I feel like I have the need to be pushed to achieve something (especially in school), I would take it out and watch it. It is just that good. (I have it as an mp3, so I can listen to it too.) That’s how much I love this. That’s how much this is inspiring to me.

Dr. Randy Pausch, you are amazing, and you are inspirational, to everyone.

Gluten Free Bar and Kombucha Review and Veg*n Clothings!

Hi everyone! How are you doing today?

First: Do not consume the two products mentioned in the title at once. I don’t think they’d taste good together. 😉

Fun eats of the summer (oh man I have so many) :

NuGo Free Gluten Free Soy Chocolate Crunch! (I have a feeling Miss Averie might like them!)

Mmmm! The goodness of chocolate-y chocolateness! 😀 It was very hard (because I just had my braces tightened, so I couldn’t really bite in to it like I would usually do), and very chewy, and it looks fiber-licious! (**that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s effective!) 😕 All in all, it was very tasty, and I would buy it again! (it was on sale at WF’s for $1.89 each. Score!)

And while synergy is gone, I would like to present you this Kombucha!

Vibrant Kombucha!

Mmm! You can taste the raspberry a lot in this one! But it’s definitely not as sizzly as synergy. Do I like it? Yes. Do I prefer more sizzle? Maybe. Would I try this again? Yes! (it’s kombucha after all. Why not try it again?) $2.99 at Whole Foods I’ll tell ya! Better deal than synegy! (which is about $3.49 a bottle! Ouch!)

Ooh, and as I was cleaning my closet, I wondered: How many veg*n shirts do I have?

So I counted them. Here they are:

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

and six.  Wait!!

Ta-da! This is the newest one from fuego. (the website for this brand is here) Michael bought it for me, and it was on sale! ($21. 80 to $13.08. Score!) It’s so cute!!!!

I had my eyes on this for a while, and I was afraid that someone already bought it. But a week or so later, it was still there! So he bought it for me! (this is the first AR/veg*n shirt that I saw that’s not from an AR-related place. Cool!!) I love it! It’s 100% cotten, and it’s sooooooooo comfy!! 😀 I love it! Thank you Michael!!!

Wow! I had a lot more than I thought! (I knew I had all these, but never really counted them) Do you have any type(s) of shirt(s) you collect? Do you have certain colored clothing(s) that you like to buy? I like clothes, but if they’re veg*n-related, I think it’s cool!

Enjoy today and like always, thaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks for coming!! 🙂

New, Fun food and a recipe!!!

Hi everyone! How are you doing today? 😉

Today, I am going to show you what I bought!

Ricemellow!!! This doesn’t have too many ingredients, and though it’s not really healthy, it’s better than a lot of products out there!! (Brown Rice Syrup, Soy protein, natural gum, natural flavor) Cool! 🙂

It looks like this:

Very fluffy! 😀 And it smelled like frosting!

With this baby, I made this!

S’mores!!!!

We (Michael and I) had two each, and they were yuuuummmmyy!! (I haven’t really had one before, so it was a nice, veganistic experience!)

Before:

After:

It was funny how the ricemellow inflated when it was in the microwave! (but I couldn’t snap a picture of it! Darn!) 😦

And I think this is one of the first times doing a recipe post. Cool! (the s’mores part isn’t the recipe. I’m sure most of you already know how to make them) 😉

So here you go! (this is the recipe from the website)

Nooch Tofu (aka Fabulous Tofu with Delicious Nooch)

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 16oz pack firm tofu
  • 1 cup nooch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper
  • tamari/soy sauce (for dip)

Steps:

1.) Heat pan to med/med high with olive oil (+ butter)

2.) Drain the block of tofu and cut into slices

3.) Bread the slices of tofu with nooch

“Nooch it” sounds more fitting in this case 😀

All “nooched” up.

4.) Cook them until it’s golden brown, flip it, and do the same thing.

Sizzling…

A little blurry, but you can still see it’s awesome golden brown-ness. 😉

5.) Add salt & pepper

6.) Serve with sauce (and veggies, if you want)

Oooooooooh yeah.

That’s it! Very simple, I know! And guess what? If you miss your scrambled eggs, good news for you because this baby + soy sauce tastes EXACTLY like scrambled eggs! I don’t miss it, but it sure reminded me of it!! 😀

And the rest can go either in the fridge or the freezer. What a yummer!

SO, if you like eggs, try this! (You can make cubes instead of slices, too!)

What’s your favorite nooch recipe? Miss Averie has  tons of nooch recipes here. (I wish I knew more “meal-like” uses for nooch. Anyone?) I know there’s a ton on the internet, but if you know any good (and your fave) recipe, please share!

Well, I’m off to go enjoy my summer! Have a good day and thaaaaaaaaaanks for coming!! 🙂
